Senior Finance and Compliance Professional

We are seeking a seasoned finance and compliance professional to lead our growing Community Investment Program. The position has been established to manage the program's financial, compliance, and risk obligations.
About the Role- Lead and oversee a significant grant funding program supporting community initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance to a team of grants officers, ensuring compliance, accountability, and best practice.
- Ensure all grant assessment, reporting, and governance processes align with state requirements.
- Grants Management: Lead a grant funding program, provide guidance to grants officers, and ensure compliance with state requirements.
- Finance Oversight: Manage operational budgets, expenditure, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines, lead compliance, risk management, and audit processes.
- Lead and support a small, capable team.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and collaborate with government partners and Aboriginal communities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring community priorities are supported and delivered.
- Hybrid flexibility – Mascot office base, no fixed office days.
- The Executive Director attends the office a couple of days per week, so occasional office presence is expected.
- An acting manager will provide a handover until late September.
- Strong experience in finance and grants management.
- Proven track record in budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and risk management.
- Leadership experience managing and mentoring small teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across government and community organisations.
- Familiarity with systems such as Objective, Smart Events, or similar.
- Newly created leadership role with scope to shape governance and processes.
- High-impact work supporting meaningful community initiatives.

- 6-month contract with potential for extension.
