Biotechnology Community Coordinator


About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Biotechnology Community Coordinator to manage our lab operations, community development and member success. This role will be responsible for ensuring daily operations run smoothly and safely, maintaining standard operating procedures, conducting regular inspections, overseeing vendor relationships, equipment maintenance and chemical safety documentation.

The successful candidate will also lead tours, respond to enquiries, convert leads into members, oversee onboarding and provide ongoing support to ensure a high-quality experience and strong member retention.

This is a key leadership role that requires a proven track record of laboratory operations, facilities management or similar roles. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of laboratory safety standards, asset management and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily lab operations to ensure smooth and safe operations
  • Lead tours and convert leads into members
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective members and partners
  • Supervise lab technicians and allocate tasks
  • Manage lab-related purchasing and invoicing
  • Foster a collaborative member community through events and campaigns

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a science-related discipline or facilities/laboratory management
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in laboratory operations, facilities management or similar roles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory safety standards, asset management and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
