Service Leader Job Summary

Centacare, a values-based organisation dedicated to providing services to the entire community, is seeking a Service Leader to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and guide a team of support workers towards creating positive outcomes for clients by embedding person-centred practices.
  • Provide regular supervision, constructive feedback, and performance evaluations to support workers and other direct reports in achieving their professional goals.
  • Emphasize person-centred goals and outcomes, engage in reflective practice, and effectively manage associated risks.
  • Ensure that clients' personal care, support, and health needs are met in accordance with applicable standards and regulations within the service stream.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively promote the services offered by the program to clients, their families, and the broader community to enhance awareness and cooperation.
  • Oversee the operational management of services, which includes budget management, program development, compliance adherence, and record-keeping.
  • Manage vacancy rates to ensure service continuity and availability for clients in need.
Key Requirements:
  • Leadership experience in a community or human services organisation.
  • Knowledge of funding standards, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, and correspondence.
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills.
  • Established problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • A relevant qualification or a Diploma in Aged Care, Disability, Community Services or equivalent.
  • A current Working with Children's Card (commonly known as Blue Card) and NDIS Working Screening Card (commonly known as Yellow Card).
  • A current National Police Certificate and QLD Driver's Licence.
