System Validation Manager

The System Validation Manager oversees the validation team, ensuring system-level validation services meet company needs for product development and project activities.

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the company's validation programs and processes, working closely with engineers to plan and execute validation strategies.

Validation responsibilities include testing Sonar systems and subsystems, managing formal test activities, and providing support for proposal preparation and review.

The Validation Manager also leads the integration of validation functions across the organization, assigns resources to projects, and sets performance standards for the validation group.

  • Work with engineers to develop system and subsystem validation strategies
  • Develop test automation capabilities and conduct informal and formal testing
  • Manage and coordinate formal test activities, including review packages and reports
  • Provide validation support for proposals and bids
  • Lead the integration of validation functions and assign resources to projects
  • Set performance standards and measures for the validation group
  • Supervise and mentor subordinate staff
Key Requirements:
  • 5+ years in a suitable system testing role
  • 3+ years leading specific validation activities and end-to-end programs
  • Experience driving process improvement programs
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other suitable qualification in Information Technology
  • Sound understanding of Systems Engineering and engineering standards
  • Practical experience in generating validation plans and procedures
  • Experience with software version control systems, issue and task management systems, and requirement management systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced development environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in sonar, radar or similar industry
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Defence projects and eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
  • Current Driver's license and ability to work flexible hours
  • A clear understanding of Cloud offerings and experience with implementing enterprise-scale Java Spring-Boot microservices
