About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Asset and Engineering team at Melbourne Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Mechanical Services Infrastructure Asset Management function, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our mechanical assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capital Budgeting: Develop and manage capital budgets for the asset life cycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Operational Budgeting: Oversee operational budgets for asset portfolio, including preventative, emergency, and reactive maintenance.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and leadership for Mechanical/HVAC assets, driving continuous improvement in asset utilization, life-cycle cost, and operational efficiencies.
  • Network Planning: Develop and maintain thermal network plans to ensure capacity and reliability of the network, consistent with growth of terminal precinct.
  • Technical Requirements: Brief technical requirements across the whole Capital Plan, ensuring consistency with Technical Standards and requirements.
  • Contractor Management: Manage and interface with contractors and/or service providers, ensuring effective delivery of projects and services.
  • Asset Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset data, including drawings, schedules, and asset lists.
  • Design and Installation Review: Review and approve design data and as-installed data, ensuring consistency with Technical Standards and requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of engineering and/or construction experience, preferably in the mechanical services sector.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrable technical proficiency in mechanical services, including design, build, operate, and maintain.
  • Education: Mechanical Engineering/Building Services Degree or equivalent.
