About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Risk Officer to lead our Technology Division's risk management activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and undertaking ART's technology risk management activities in the first line of defence, while achieving the Technology Division's goals and strategy by managing risks proactively and effectively, supporting a positive risk culture and enhancing growth.

This permanent role is part of ART's new Technology Risk function which reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively support, prioritise and challenge the management of risk within Technology.
  • Support the identification and management of processes, risks and controls and planning, coordination and facilitation of risk and control assessments across Technology.
  • Support Technology control owners and technical risk managers with risk, compliance and reporting requirements, development of risk mitigation strategies and compliance with ART's policies and standards.
  • Support the identification and management of risks and controls through workshops, meetings and working with Technology teams.
  • Support regular review of the Risk Register when significant change, such as business process change, project go-live or when a risk event occurs or during the Risk Review period.
  • Support delivery of Technology Risk reporting to Board and management governance committees.
  • Perform independent control testing of technology controls, including design, implementation and operating effectiveness and reviewing control testing completed for completeness and accuracy.
  • Proactively display and promote risk culture practices.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in building programs for testing.
  • Experience with preparing reporting for Boards and Committees.
  • Deep knowledge of risk management and compliance objectives and approaches.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation within the Financial Services industry and proven ability to integrate into existing risk frameworks.
  • Ability to manage and influence change and to provide practical guidance on implementation of new requirements, at a senior stakeholder level.
  • Highly developed verbal communication and writing skills, particularly for a senior audience.
  • High levels of initiative and motivation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
