About This Role
This role involves managing and overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, financial, and program requirements.
Key responsibilities include leading and supporting a small team of engineers to deliver projects according to quality, safety, environmental, and budget requirements.
- Lead and support a small team of engineers to deliver projects according to quality, safety, environmental, and budget requirements
- Monitor project progress and construction performance against plans and contracts
- Review and manage contractor communications, claims, variations, and extensions of time
- Ensure adherence to contract specifications, approvals, and legislative requirements
- Assist with risk and issues management and participate in project audits and quality reviews
- Maintain effective document control and reporting systems
- Provide technical advice on construction methods, traffic control, work programs, and compliance
- Collaborate with project management and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and problem resolution
Requirements
- Degree qualification in engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer in large civil infrastructure projects, preferably in transport or road construction
- Experience with government procurement processes, ideally involving TfNSW
- Competence in project planning and scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively under pressure and meet deadlines
