
Women's Health Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team in the Women and Childrens Health Service at Westmead Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality social work support to women, children and families, contributing to the development of our service.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Providing expert social work support to women, children and families
- Leading projects and mentoring staff
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for patients
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
- Demonstrated clinical experience in pregnancy loss, perinatal bereavement, child protection and domestic and family violence
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, project management and policy development
- Well-developed time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, report writing skills and high level computer literacy
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, with ability to interact collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
As a Social Worker with Western Sydney Local Health District, you will have access to professional development opportunities, including regular clinical supervision, staff development sessions and external education and training. You will also have the opportunity to lead research and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to service development policies and procedures.
