Expert Social Work Support in Women and Children's Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team in the Women and Childrens Health Service at Westmead Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality social work support to women, children and families, contributing to the development of our service.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert social work support to women, children and families
  • Leading projects and mentoring staff
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for patients
Key Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in pregnancy loss, perinatal bereavement, child protection and domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, project management and policy development
  • Well-developed time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, report writing skills and high level computer literacy
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, with ability to interact collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
