We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Partner. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals.
This challenging yet rewarding role involves providing guidance and support to help individuals explore their interests and develop the necessary skills for a successful transition into the workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with clients to identify their strengths, interests, and potential career paths.
- Assisting clients in researching and exploring a range of employment opportunities that align with their interests and abilities.
- Developing an individualised employment plan based on the client's goals, capabilities, and preferences.
- Working with employers to create job placement opportunities and advocating for the client's specific needs and accommodations.
- Providing ongoing guidance and mentorship to promote confidence and independence.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to think creatively, and have strong organisational skills.
To be considered for this role, please ensure you meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience working in disability support or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- A genuine passion for helping individuals with disabilities overcome barriers to employment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and their support network.
- Ability to assess client needs, identify barriers, and develop tailored employment plans.
- NDIS workers screening, Full Drivers licence, Fully Comprehensive vehicle insurance, First Aid training, and Working with Children Card.
This is a part-time, permanent, or casual opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate. Supplemental pay types include penalty rates. The expected hours are no less than 3 per week, with day and morning shifts available. We look forward to welcoming a motivated and caring professional to our team.
