We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination. The ideal candidate will have experience in preserving, embedding, sectioning and staining specimens.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare slides of specimens to enhance visibility under a microscope.
- Assist with laboratory slide preparation and delivery operations.
- Collaborate professionally with the digital imaging implementation team.
- Confirm slides are scanned as completed cases.
- Loading prepared microscopic slides onto a digital image scanner for pathologist review.
- Perform quality assurance evaluation on scanned images.
- Prepare and analyze data metrics related to imaging system reliability.
- Serve as the primary resource for equipment knowledge, troubleshooting and data information regarding the imaging system.
The successful candidate will be required to adhere to organization-wide policies and procedures, perform within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines and perform within their professional Scope of Practice at all times.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who possess effective communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or college coursework in a relevant scientific discipline, at least one year of experience in the healthcare field and preferably training and dedicated experience related to Mohs procedures and CLIA certification requirements.
