Early Childhood Education and Care Leader

This leadership position focuses on guiding and supporting a team to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care. The successful candidate will have experience in leading a room in an early childhood setting, with a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and a well-established philosophy for early learning.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement a child-centered program reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines and national standards.
  • Maintain a safe environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols, especially for children with specific needs such as anaphylaxis, allergies, or asthma.
  • Record and document incidents, injuries, illnesses, and medication accurately.
  • Liaise with families regularly, ensuring effective communication regarding day-to-day events.
  • Monitor individual children's progress, particularly those identified through staff observation, and maintain comprehensive records.

**Essential Criteria:**

  • A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (e.g., Certificate III or Diploma).
  • Proven experience working as a Room Leader in an early childhood setting.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A deep understanding of family communications and its importance in early childhood education.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Montessori Philosophy and its application in practice.
  • Well-versed in Montessori learning materials, curriculum areas, and progression principles.
  • A passion for implementing early learning programs based on the Montessori method.
  • A commitment to the holistic development of the class.
