Job Title: Local Area Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Local Area Coordinator to join our team at Uniting. As a Local Area Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting people with disabilities, their families, and carers to build capacity and exercise choice and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support people with disabilities, their families, and carers to navigate the NDIS and access community and mainstream services.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support participants in achieving their goals and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide education and support to participants and their families on NDIS policies, procedures, and funding.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure participants are meeting their goals and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with people with disabilities and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of organization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and its policies and procedures.
