About the Role
This senior role is responsible for strategically managing occupational health and safety risks across national and international sites. As a key member of our team, you will create and implement tailored standards, programs, and technical guidance to enhance organizational capability and ensure effective OHS strategies.
The position involves:
- Ensuring compliance with company standards, procedures, and local legislative requirements related to occupational health and safety.
- Overseeing the process and outcomes of occupational exposure assessments.
- Influencing operational leaders and HSER managers to implement risk controls based on occupational hygiene assessments.
- Supporting the business unit in developing and implementing monitoring and sampling plans.
- Building organizational capability in occupational health and safety risk management through coaching HSER teams and operational leaders.
- Developing and maintaining competency requirements and training to manage occupational health and safety risks on the frontline.
- Supporting the investigation of workplace exposure standard exceedances and other occupational health and safety incidents and illnesses.
- Managing providers to ensure services meet required standards and comply with contractual and legislative obligations.
Your Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess a thorough understanding of Australian OHS legislative compliance standards. You will be an adaptable, innovative thinker with a results-oriented approach, able to mentor and collaborate with senior stakeholders and lead investigations.
We are seeking candidates with one of the following qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Hygiene, Science, Engineering, Allied Health, or OHS & Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)
Experience in incident investigations using methodologies such as Taproot, ICAM, or similar will be highly regarded.
