Vocational Education Specialist

Our organization provides adjusted education programs and vocational training to secondary students who benefit from an alternative learning environment. With a strong focus on supporting vulnerable young people and adults, we are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of a VET Coordinator.
The key responsibilities of this position include planning and facilitating employability programs to participants, as well as supporting the operation and delivery of vocational education and training. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting in delivering associated programs, services and events offered to people, and supporting YMCA and RTO trainers in their delivery of academic and wellbeing programs to participants.
Key requirements for this position include a Certificate IV in Career Development or similar qualification, significant demonstrated recent experience in working with young people who are at risk, and the ability to provide individualized support and action plans for young people that enable them to realize opportunities, and grow in academic and vocational capacity.
- Plan and facilitate employability programs to participants
- Assist in delivering associated programs, services and events offered to people
- Support YMCA and RTO trainers in their delivery of academic and wellbeing programs to participants
- Form intentional relationships with participants so that their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs can be supported appropriately through the program
