The role of Operations Manager is to manage and maintain a high-performing shopping centre. This involves overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance are carried out to a high standard, and providing technical and maintenance advice to support the centre management team and client.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and managing a comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance Programme
  • Providing technical and maintenance advice
  • Conducting regular inspections
  • Oversseeing day-to-day operations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance and operational efficiencies
  • Coordinating compliance with Emergency Evacuation Training and Procedures
  • Assisting in driving sustainability goals
  • Managing contracts and agreements with contractors effectively
  • Utilising the Facility Request Centre to address tenant requests promptly
  • Supporting the development and implementation of capital works projects

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in facilities and/or property industry
  • A trade qualification in electrical, mechanical engineering, or plumbing; or significant work experience in a similar role
  • Hold SA Property Managers Registration License, or be willing to obtain within 6 months at own cost
  • Tertiary qualifications (degree or diploma) in Facilities Management or related field
  • A valid driver's license
  • Solid understanding of Facilities Management
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, compliance requirements, and building systems
  • Proven track record in contractor management and ensuring quality control and compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A practical and proactive attitude
