Job Title: Strategic Data Governance Lead

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the university's data-driven strategy forward by establishing and leading a comprehensive data governance framework. This strategic position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility of institutional data across domains.

  • Develop and implement data standards, stewardship models, and governance structures that align with institutional goals and compliance requirements.
  • Enhance data quality and consistency across systems such as student information systems (SIS), HR, and Identity platforms.
  • Implement processes for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, metadata management, and automation-driven data quality improvement using tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Evaluate and enhance existing data governance frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Promote a culture of data stewardship by designing and delivering training programs that promote governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional working groups to facilitate consensus among stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex data flows and integration patterns to identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate governance insights effectively through data visualization or reporting tools.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and data health dashboards.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading data governance or integration initiatives in a complex enterprise setting.
  • Hands-on experience implementing governance tools (preferably Informatica) in a cloud or hybrid environment.
  • Proven ability to bridge business and technical perspectives—working effectively with IT teams and business stakeholders.
