Mine Laboratory Operations Manager

Job Overview
This role involves scheduling staff onto daily jobs, working closely with operational teams. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and communication skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understand and complete daily operational requirements, including shift coverage as required
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of production and project sample collection and analysis
- Present a united leadership approach at all times and lead by example
- Implement effective document control within the department
- Provide an onsite laboratory service to support mine operations
- Identify hazards and risks through regular inspections, audits, behavioural observations, JSA's and HSE inspections
- Safety is paramount and must be at the forefront at all times
- Ensure equipment calibrations are completed and current
- Liaise/communicate with employees and clients as well as internal staff
Requirements
Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded. Standard 11 is highly regarded or the ability to obtain. Proficient in MS Office, including basic spreadsheeting. Mathematical/analytical principles. Knowledge of coal laboratory operations. Excellent time management and attention to detail is a must, fast thinking and the ability to handle change as well as being able to work in a team environment and autonomously when required.
