Job Opportunity: Laboratory Management Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of laboratory facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

This is a fixed-term contract lasting 14 months, aimed at achieving optimal laboratory performance, scientific excellence, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure equipment maintenance and availability within the laboratories.
  • Collaborate with WHS, Engineering teams, risk owners, and stakeholders to maintain laboratory compliance with safety management systems and policies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and create associated documentation.
  • Manage complex scientific equipment, monitor performance, and perform necessary calibrations.
  • Source and procure materials and services to support maintenance activities.
  • Assist in regular audits and inspections, maintaining accurate laboratory records.
  • Ensure laboratory users are properly trained and equipped with necessary competencies.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment and proven laboratory management skills.
  • Experience with safety protocols and risk assessment processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in laboratory management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical/Materials Engineering or equivalent experience.
