Experienced Horse Riding Instructor Required

A reputable horse riding establishment is currently seeking a highly skilled and capable instructor to join their team. The position is full-time and based in Mornington, Victoria.

The successful candidate will be responsible for educating young horses on the ground, as well as participating in riding activities such as pace work, timed work, and jump outs. They will also assist with swimming and barrier education.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent horsemanship skills, a relevant qualification, and at least 2 years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in the role.

They must also be able to prove their reliability, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and demonstrate their ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In addition, the following skills are essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
  • Proven ability to train and educate young horses
  • Oral and written communication skills to take instruction and provide information
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
