Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Horse Riding Instructor to join our equine team.

The successful candidate will be able to manage and care for 8-10 horses per morning, focusing on riding pace/timed work and jump outs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To have at least 3-years of full-time professional experience in the role or at least 2 years of full-time relevant experience with a relevant qualification.
  • To possess knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing.
  • To demonstrate proven ability to train and educate young horses.
  • To pre-train young horses where necessary.
  • To possess excellent oral and written communication skills to take instruction and provide information.
  • To be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • To have sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses.
  • To be a reliable and skilled horseman/woman.

Requirements:

  1. To have a minimum of 3 years of full time professional experience as a Horse Trainer/Rider or at least 2 years of full time highly relevant experience with a relevant qualification.
  2. To have knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing.
  3. To have proven ability to train and educate young horses.
  4. To have ability to pre-train young horses when necessary.
  5. To have good oral and written communication skills.
  6. To be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. To have knowledge of health and safety obligations.
  8. To have skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses.
