About the Role

As a support worker, you will be supporting people with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, assistance in the community and being a companion. This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Support clients with personal cares, assistance with mobility and prompting with medication
  • Support clients to achieve their goals and make choices in partnership with other support networks
  • Promote customer choice, positive routines and activities ensuring they are meaningful to the customer
Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry
  • Assisting clients with personal cares, including bathing, dressing and grooming
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Supporting clients to achieve their goals and make choices in partnership with other support networks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (essential)
  • Current and valid Driver's Licence and insured, reliable motor vehicle
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smartphones, email and internet
  • A desire to join an organisation committed to the care of others
