Job Title: Infrastructure Development Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Infrastructure Development Specialist. This is a temporary opportunity with a local council, offering a chance to work on drainage and development projects.

This position involves conducting drainage designs in accordance with relevant standards, ensuring sustainable outcomes within the community infrastructure setting.

You will also be responsible for investigating customer enquiries relating to drainage and flooding concerns, engaging stakeholders and consultants as necessary.

A key aspect of this role is leading the development and implementation of strategic plans and studies for improved drainage outcomes within the municipality.

You will implement Integrated Water Management principles into all new developments and assist in integrating them into Council's capital works projects, working collaboratively with various operational departments.

This role requires you to review and respond to engineering information service requests, including Legal Point of Discharge and Build Over Easement requests, fostering a collaborative environment and championing a customer-first focus.

You will maintain accurate investigations, reviews, and strategies for drainage and development-related issues that align with appropriate legislation guidelines and standards.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary engineering qualification in drainage and design management within the community infrastructure setting is preferred, with experience in drainage management and demonstrated knowledge of engineering development trends.
  • Strong knowledge of drainage and integrated water management, eligible to be a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
