
Culturally Sensitive Healthcare Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner to work with healthcare teams to provide culturally safe and holistic person-centered clinical care, health education and promotion for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people within Western Australia.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for working within their scope of practice and in consideration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia professional capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing culturally sensitive clinical care to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people
- Working with healthcare teams to develop and implement culturally appropriate health programs
- Conducting health education and promotion activities to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal communities. They must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. nursing, medicine)
- Experience working in Aboriginal health
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
