Aeromedical Retrieval Specialist
Role OverviewThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aeromedical retrievals, telemedicine, and flying medical clinics. They should also possess strong indigenous health knowledge and be able to independently manage critically ill and injured patients.
Detailed ResponsibilitiesAeromedical retrieval experience is essential for this role. The specialist will be responsible for retrieving patients from remote locations using fixed-wing aircraft.
Telemedicine skills are crucial as the specialist will work closely with healthcare teams to provide remote consultations and support.
Flying medical clinics expertise is also necessary as the specialist will participate in medical outreach programs and deliver healthcare services in remote communities.
Indigenous health knowledge is vital to effectively address the unique healthcare needs of rural and remote populations.
Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner is mandatory.
Minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience is required.
Significant experience in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, and acute paediatrics is necessary.
Ability to independently manage critically ill and injured patients is a must.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Availability for at least 12 months is required.
ACEM/ANZCA/CICM/FACRRM or FRACGP or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable.
Obstetric experience is beneficial.
Primary health care experience is advantageous.
Experience in pre-hospital or retrieval medicine is valuable.
Experience in regional or remote medical practice is highly regarded.
