Health Service Interpreting Specialist

Seeking a highly experienced NAATI Certified Vietnamese Interpreter and Translator to join our Language Services Department on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in working in a health service environment. They will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting and translating services for Vietnamese-speaking patients and Austin Health staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpreting and translating services
- Maintain accurate statistics of interpreting work undertaken
- Adhere to the standards of the Language Services Department as outlined in the Austin Interpreter Guidelines and Protocols
- Promote ongoing education and learning for all Austin Health staff and patients regarding interpreting services
- Work collaboratively with Austin Health staff to ensure a timely and effective service
Essential Requirements:
- NAATI Certification (Provisional certification with medical experience may be considered)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in working in a health service environment
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
