Senior Electrical Professional

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to develop and maintain the mine's plant control systems and automation infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

This role is integral to our team as we establish and expand our operations at the site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or mechatronics, with experience in Rockwell Automation software and PLC programming.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing standards for plant control systems and automation processes, managing and maintaining PCS, including SCADA and PLC programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing standards for plant control systems and automation processes.
  • Managing and maintaining PCS, including SCADA and PLC programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervising contractors and site personnel involved in control systems and automation projects.
  • Installing, programming, and maintaining Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley, Plant SCADA, Citect SCADA, and PLC systems).
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying faults within data networks, including Ethernet, ControlNet, and Modbus communication systems.
  • Collaborating with Electrical Engineering Manager, Mine Manager, CHPP Superintendent, and General Manager to achieve operational targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safety regulations.

About you:

  • Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Trade background with strong PLC programming experience.
  • Experience in Rockwell Automation software, including Allen-Bradley PLCs and Plant SCADA.
  • Strong capability in SCADA system development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and control system projects in heavy industrial environments.
  • Exposure to underground coal mining is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
