Drive Financial Planning and Analysis for Virgin Australia's Customer and Digital Division

We're seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function for our Customer and Digital division. As Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will play a critical role in supporting the business to achieve its short-term and long-term strategic and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing business activity, ad-hoc and routine analysis, as well as developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Leading and managing the FP&A team, including developing and implementing team structures and processes.
  • Building and validating complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformation, ensuring to justify potential investment and quantifying benefit.
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams to manage the business and drive continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the CFO, GMs, and ELT members with ad-hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the group and divisions.
  • Overseeing, managing, and improving divisional, line, and/or route profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Systematizing financial models and reports.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and preparing the presentation of management financials for discussion with the relevant executive member and their leadership team.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar.
  • Extensive experience in developing forecast models and complex business cases.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of developing junior team members.
  • Extensive experience in Business Partnering and Finance Support of the business units.
  • Development of KPIs and performance hurdles for new business proposals.
  • Proven track record in improving processes and delivering against deadlines.
  • Experience in preparing presentations and analysis for executives and boards.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to think strategically and implement initiatives in a way that delivers business outcomes.
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of the commercial drivers for the profitability of a large, corporate business.
