A competitive salary of AU$60,000 - AU$80,000 per annum reflects the importance of this Storesperson role in Melbourne Airport's catering team.

Melbourne Airport is at the forefront of Australia's aviation industry, with a major ramp up underway. As a Storesperson, you will play a critical part in ensuring the timely and efficient acceptance of goods and stores destined for use in the catering area.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing inventory levels to guarantee that required goods are available on time and in the necessary quantities.
  • Ensuring delivered items meet acceptable hygiene and other specifications.
  • Maintaining stock rotation to ensure optimal storage space usage.
  • Effectively managing warehouse operations to accommodate incoming goods as needed.
  • Maintaining high standards of HACCP, QSAI, and WHS compliance in line with Federal and State Government Regulations.
  • Colour coding and stamping perishable items upon delivery.
  • Anticipating potential issues and taking appropriate actions to mitigate or manage them.
  • Building relationships based on clear KPIs supported by regular review mechanisms to drive ongoing process and operational improvement.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A high reach forklift license with experience being a plus.
  • A solid understanding of basic food safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with Halal policies and procedures would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of general Work Health and Safety principles.
  • Familiarity with warehousing and storage practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Check, given the Aviation Services industry context.
  • Availability to work 38 hours/week due to the full-time permanent nature of the position.
