Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Waste Operations Manager to drive the effective and safe delivery of our waste services. This hands-on leadership role will guide a team responsible for the day-to-day operations of domestic, commercial, and recycling waste, ensuring compliance, safety, and service excellence across the city.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operational Supervision: Oversee daily operations across waste services, including coordinating schedules and resources.
  • Safety and Compliance: Foster a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Team Support: Provide technical and operational guidance to team members, promoting continuous improvement and development.
  • Incident Management: Monitor and document incidents, near misses, and training, ensuring prompt action and resolution.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate records and performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and resolving issues.
Requirements
  • A current HR Class Driver's Licence.
  • Proven experience leading operational teams, preferably in waste management.
  • Excellent understanding of safety procedures and legal compliance (HVNL & CoR).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in training, supervising, and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to analyze service issues and implement practical solutions.
