At our organization, recycling is deeply ingrained in our operations. As a subsidiary of a prominent waste management group, we are leaders in managing and facilitating operations that focus on recycling for Container Deposit Schemes (CDS) in Australia.

The role of Assistant Depot Manager involves overseeing the smooth operation of the depot, ensuring exceptional customer service by assisting customers sort their recyclable products and providing them with correct refunds.

The key responsibilities of this position include supporting the Depot Manager by leading a small team to deliver outstanding customer service, rostering casual team members, sorting recyclable items into their correct categories, and welcoming and assisting customers with their recycling products to inspire repeat business.

Additionally, you will be responsible for continuously improving efficiency and increasing customer satisfaction, ensuring staff have the necessary skills and training to work safely and efficiently, and adhering to all health and safety procedures and highlighting any hazards/faults/risks.

Other essential requirements for this position include previous experience leading a small or medium-sized team, being physically fit, and able to handle manual repetitive tasks as required, along with previous retail, hospitality, warehousing, or customer-related experience.
