Job Title

Family Reunification Officer

  • Assist clients in finding and reconnecting with their families and communities.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough family research and investigations
- Develop case management plans in collaboration with the team
- Coordinate family reunions and visits in consultation with clients, family members, and community representatives
- Liaise with key record agencies and other relevant organizations to access resources and information
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities across the state
- Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and progress

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and work within their cultural context
- Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or equivalent experience in a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

Desirable:
- Collection, analysis, and interpretation of data experience
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate/Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- Understanding of contemporary issues affecting Indigenous Australians
- Experience in case management and family tracing processes
