About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist with Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, you will play a vital role in delivering culturally responsive and high-quality occupational therapy services to clients within the Central Australian community.

The primary focus of this position is to support clients in optimising their self-care and participation in functional activities, enabling independence and social participation. The role involves working predominantly through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the community, promoting health and well-being through evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy services that are tailored to the needs of clients, taking into account their cultural background and individual requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Develop and implement effective intervention plans that promote client independence and participation in functional activities.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working in a community health setting, preferably with Indigenous Australians.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Cultural competence and understanding of the Central Australian context.
