  • Provide high-level technical support for laboratory operations, including state-of-the-art equipment such as a Molecular Vista VistaScope infrared photo-induced force microscope, Horiba LabRAM Soleil Raman FTIR spectroscope, Olympus Vanta M portable x-ray fluorescence spectrometer, and Malvern Panalytical Aeris benchtop XRD.
  • Collaborate with the Geochemical Instrument Operations Team within the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) to advance knowledge in geoscience disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support laboratory operations, ensuring optimal performance and maintenance of advanced instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with researchers to design and implement experiments, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for instrument operation, calibration, and quality control.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with phase analysis, spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and/or force microscopy.
  • Strong technical background, preferably in earth sciences or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with researchers and other stakeholders.
