Perinatal Program Facilitator

The Pregnancy Family Conferencing program utilises a strengths-based model to promote early engagement and interagency planning with pregnant women and families at risk of their newborns entering out-of-home care at birth.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate, allocate and oversee all PFC program cases.
- Develop and maintain a group of appropriately skilled facilitators.
- Undertake the facilitation role as required.
- Develop and foster strong interagency partnerships to sustain and further develop the program.
The Coordinator is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the program.
Selection Criteria:- Degree in counselling or a related field or degree in social work from an accredited course which provides eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in working within an interagency context including networking and partnerships with government and non-government agencies.
- Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in providing child-centred family-focussed and person-centred care and facilitating respectful and culturally safe access to services for improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal families.
- Demonstrated understanding of child protection management of child protection cases provision of child protection consultation to clinicians/caseworkers.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
