Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine Specialist

Job Description:

The Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine Specialist will evaluate, assess, and treat musculoskeletal injuries and sports concussions in a sports medicine physician practice. The successful candidate will provide on-site home exercise instruction, splinting/bracing, and instructions in accordance with The Ohio Athletic Training Practice Act.

In this role, you will assist medical staff with completing required medical documentation, statistics, and other administrative paperwork. You will also serve as a liaison between patients and the medical team, providing patient education on injury care, home-going instructions, and monitoring of symptoms.

As an athletic trainer, you will augment and support the services of physicians and other healthcare providers. You will provide efficient care to patients by utilizing a team approach that ensures timely and effective diagnosis and treatments.

This position requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, administrators, and other healthcare professionals. Proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records, is essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • Certification: Current certification from the Board of Certification, Inc. for athletic trainers
  • License: Maintains AT license in good standing
  • Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, competent in computers, and ability to make presentations
