About the Role

Our client is a leading NSW Government statutory corporation responsible for supplying the state's bulk water needs, operating the state's river systems and dams, and the bulk water supply system for Greater Sydney. They are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Project Engineer to assist them on a 12-month assignment with their team in Parramatta, NSW.

Candidates for this position must have qualifications in Electrical Engineering with experience on High to medium voltage projects, coupled with strong experience in the Water or Civil construction industry. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering and project management expertise to drive and deliver electrical safety improvement under a program of works ensuring optimal quality, cost, and schedule are maintained in accordance with project delivery frameworks while putting safety first.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and track project plans to ensure delivery in line with cost, time, quality, and safety objectives.
  2. Ensure all activities are undertaken with the safety of staff as the top priority and model safe behavior.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical specifications and scope of works for internal and external delivery partners.
  4. Apply quality assurance processes and develop tools and templates to ensure standardized delivery of safety and condition audits, engineering studies, and asset identification works.
  5. Produce and/or update drawings, operating and maintenance manuals, and other relevant artifacts in a timely manner.
  6. Review and address recommendations from consultants in a timely manner, prioritizing safety risks.
  7. Work with budget owners, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive achievement of strategic objectives and timeframes.

Please note that you will work from our client's Parramatta office with some site-based travel required. Flexible work arrangements will be provided.

About You

You will be an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with a proven track record and reliability in previous positions. The successful candidate will possess:

  1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Extensive understanding of the water industry.
  3. Knowledge of PMBOK or Prince 2 methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards, including WHS, related to the design and delivery of engineering aspects of operations and capital projects.
  5. Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
  6. Ability to interpret, assess, and review engineering designs, studies, drawings, and other work methodologies to ensure compliance with standards and meet required objectives.
  7. A current NSW Driver's License.
