We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative and inclusive culture that values mutual respect and open communication.

About the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for leading the site-based Quality function, bringing technical process and analytical expertise to improve and maintain a shared Quality vision. This includes developing and implementing quality standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and coordinating activities to maintain certification and accreditation.

You will work closely with the Executive Leadership team, as well as other functions within the plant, to drive continuous improvement and excellence in operational processes. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all staff, customers, and competitors recognize our company's dedication to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications (HACCP and SQF)
  • Lead the site-based Quality function, providing technical expertise and guidance to the manufacturing teams
  • Collaborate with the Master Distiller and/or Production Leader to mitigate non-conformities and ensure customer satisfaction
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS AT SITE LEVEL AND WITH EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
  • Personalize your approach to address the unique needs of different stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field, with direct experience working in a small to medium-scale food, beverage/liquid manufacturing plant
  • Experience working in a start-up environment, with an understanding that the role will involve wearing multiple hats at times
  • Demonstrated success in a hands-on Quality position, with a track record of superior skills and communication
  • Strengths in change management and creating new processes, including SOP development
  • A can-do attitude, genuine passion, energy, and enthusiasm for driving quality excellence
