Biological Researcher Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Biological Researcher to join our team at the University of Adelaide.

This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with expertise in structural biology, protein biochemistry, and related fields to contribute to cutting-edge research projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in expressing and purifying large multi-subunit protein complexes, analyzing them through in vitro methods, and using cryo-EM techniques to determine 3D structures of protein macromolecules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to study the structure and function of chromatin-associated complexes involved in gene repression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative research strategies and techniques.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research papers, presentations, and other scientific materials.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in protein biochemistry, structural biology, or a related field with a strong publication record.
  • Extensive experience in structural biology techniques, including sample preparation, data collection, computational analysis, and 3D structure determination of protein macromolecules.
  • Experience with cryo-EM techniques, cellular tomography workflows, and structural, biochemical, and biophysical studies of interactions between DNA/RNA/chromatin and protein.
