The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled Researcher to join their team. The successful applicant will play a leading role in developing and implementing classical concepts for imaging within a vibrant research environment.

The researcher will work on the development of new light-based and label-free imaging technologies and their translation to biological research or industry. They will conduct both experimental work and numerical studies, collaborating with key institutes such as the Institute of Photonics and Advanced Sensing and biologists in the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences and School of Biological Sciences.

To be successful, you will need a PhD in Optics/Photonics/Physics and/or Microscopy, with a strong focus on light-sheet and multiphoton microscopy. You should have experience in one or more of advanced optical imaging, classical imaging, multiphoton imaging, and the development and application of numerical methods of deep learning or multivariate analysis.

Interdisciplinary experience with projects that overlap across multiple fields is also essential. Additionally, you must be able to plan and manage your own research activity and conduct relevant individual and collaborative research projects. Good oral communication skills and journal/conference paper writing abilities are also required.
