About the Role

This position places you at the heart of decision-making in the City of Sydney, working in the office of the Labour Deputy Lord Mayor.

You'll work in a fast-paced political environment, providing evidence-based advice, creating communications and leading collaboration and engagement with stakeholders.

  • Provide policy and research advice to the Labour Deputy Lord Mayor and their team.
  • Create communications materials, such as policy notes, stakeholder correspondence, and social media content.
  • Engage collaboratively with government, community organisations, progressive movements, and resident groups.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy and/or research for a government, not-for-profit or advocacy organisation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to values like affordable housing, climate action, inclusive economic prosperity, and responsive local government.
  • Understanding of the current political landscape, with a particular focus on local issues.
