This role involves providing advice on inclusive education practices, utilising data to inform decision-making for interventions, and ensuring compliance with relevant disability legislation.

The Inclusive Support and Advice team engages with SA government preschools and schools to build capability around effective whole site inclusive planning for children and students with disability.

The Advisor influences practice changes through strategic engagement with diverse stakeholders, delivering programs as part of improvement and reform processes, and promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.

They will provide timely, informed, and future-orientated advice and support about policies, programs, pedagogical practices, strategies, and learning environments that best support children and students.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disability. You will work closely with educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement inclusive practices that promote equality and access for all.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice on inclusive education practices and strategies
  • Developing and implementing inclusive plans for children and students with disability
  • Engaging with diverse stakeholders to promote inclusive practices
  • Delivering programs and services to support children and students with disability

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, special education, or a related field
  • Experience working in an educational setting, particularly in a leadership or advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of disability legislation and policy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
