The Asia-Pacific region is a key growth area for us, and we're seeking a highly experienced Internal Controls Manager to join our team in Australia. This is a foundational position that will work closely with our global Internal Controls team to identify and mitigate risks, improve processes, and ensure the integrity of our financial operations.

As an Internal Controls Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective internal control systems to ensure compliance with regulations, accuracy in financial reporting, and effective risk management. This will involve conducting risk assessments, facilitating audits, training staff, and promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the organization.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Assisting in the development and execution of the annual Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) review plan based on risk assessment and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting ICFR reviews, including planning, scoping, fieldwork, testing, and reporting in accordance with established audit methodologies and standards.
  • Contributing to the strategic evolution of our ICFR program.
  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls and governance processes, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for remediation.
  • Leading and coordinating with co-sourcing partners, external auditors, and system/control owners to ensure cohesive and collaborative execution.
  • Executing control readiness assessments and controls implementation for new acquisitions.
  • Assisting with developing and implementing an ESG controls framework.
  • Reviewing and evaluating policies, procedures, and standards to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Fostering a culture of compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement within the controls team and across the organization.

We're looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in internal audit, risk management, and compliance. You'll have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and advanced degree or professional certifications (CPA, CIA) are preferred. You'll also have extensive experience in external and/or internal audit, comprehensive knowledge of corporate governance, risk management, US GAAP, PCAOB audit standards, and control frameworks (COSO, COBIT, etc.).
