The Asia-Pacific division encompasses Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Singapore, employing nearly 3000 dedicated professionals.
Position OverviewAs we advance our transformation and growth initiatives in the region, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Procurement Manager, Asia Pac. This role will be instrumental in crafting, executing, and overseeing Lineage's procurement strategy for the region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality goods and services at optimal costs in a sustainable and ethical manner.
Ideally situated in Melbourne (with the possibility of being based in Sydney), this position reports to the VP Finance, Asia Pac. You will lead a small team across the region and take responsibility for critical contracts and vendor management, Tier 1 Governance (including modern slavery, supplier onboarding, and contractor management), regional standardization, and the promotion of Lineage's core values: safety, trust, respect, innovation, boldness, and servant leadership.
This role is crucial in establishing a robust financial control environment and implementing best practices in procurement and vendor/contractor management. You will be accountable for achieving strategic objectives across sourcing and procurement processes/tools, nurturing supplier partnerships, and delivering on established savings targets.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, assess, select, and execute effective sourcing strategies across all spending categories in collaboration with key business leaders and stakeholders.
- Manage and engage personnel – leading a regional team while providing coaching, mentoring, and support.
- Recognize potential procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions or price volatility, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Implement, standardize, and manage procurement tools and systems to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and minimize errors.
- Generate comprehensive procurement reports that provide insights into spending patterns, supplier performance, and market trends to guide strategic decision-making.
- Oversee key contracts and vendor management across all spending areas, including consumables, material handling equipment, electricity, capital expenditures, and labor hire.
- Engage in category management, focusing on supplier rationalization, spend reduction, and value engineering.
- Conduct key vendor KPI reviews and/or quarterly business reviews for items such as pallets, material handling equipment, stretch wrap, and personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate mergers and acquisitions and integration activities related to sourcing and procurement.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- A Bachelor's degree in business, procurement, or a related field, or equivalent procurement management experience, preferably within the warehousing and/or supply chain sectors.
- The ability to derive critical insights and make strategic recommendations based on data, key metrics, and business needs.
- Proven credentials as a strategic procurement professional with strong commercial acumen.
- Experience leading procurement teams in large, geographically dispersed, and complex environments.
- A track record in category management, procurement governance, and continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and related IT systems.
- The ability to think critically and innovatively to identify optimal procurement solutions across the region.
- Technologically savvy with advanced systems and process knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret productivity and resource management data.
- Exposure to procurement and purchasing governance practices for supplier onboarding, contract management, and purchase order compliance.
