Family Services Specialist

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Services Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Rapid Response program, you will work intensively with families at the point of crisis, providing short-term and intensive support to address immediate needs and promote long-term wellbeing.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of family dynamics, child development, and trauma-informed practice. You will work closely with families to develop a safety-focused plan, providing in-home support and coaching to build on parental strengths and skills. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping families navigate complex issues and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Work intensively with families at the point of crisis, providing short-term and intensive support to address immediate needs and promote long-term wellbeing.
- Develop and implement safety-focused plans with families, incorporating coaching and role modelling to build on parental strengths and skills.
- Provide in-home support and coaching to families, utilising a strengths-based approach to address complex issues and promote positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with child protection and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to family needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program strategies and initiatives, ensuring a high-quality service that meets the needs of families and stakeholders.
- Professional experience and relevant qualification(s) in social work, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, child development, and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and rapport with families and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership.
- Willingness to work outside of normal hours to see families together and at home.
