Melton Secondary College offers opportunities for growth and development for both teaching and leadership. Our induction program supports new staff, while our Expert Teacher program incentivizes excellent teaching practices.
The role comes with no added responsibilities or meetings. You'll have the freedom to teach and deliver results.
We have a whole-school approach to curriculum, allowing teams to spend less time planning and more time focusing on effective teaching methods.
We invest in every staff member to help them reach their full potential, which benefits our students' success. Our flexible work options include a 9-day face-to-face fortnight.
We use best-practice models like LEARN to ensure deep learning. Our resource management systems support Office365, Compass, and Apple through our Year 7-9 iPad program. We also offer a BYOD program for Year 10-12 students.
Students start the day connecting with themselves and each other in a morning circle as part of our Social Emotional Learning program. They also participate in Enrichment programs that explore their interests, develop new skills, and build connections in Arts, Sports, Communication, and Service.
We're seeking highly impactful teachers who lead learning. Currently, we're deepening our work with explicit teaching and mastery. Opportunities exist for staff to promote extracurricular programs in Performing Arts, Sport, and Student Leadership.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience responding to student learning needs.
- Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
- Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
- Behaviors and attitudes consistent with Department values.
