Job Title: Despatch Supervisor

The successful candidate will have experience in transport, distribution or logistics and be able to lead and motivate a team through expertise and action.

The key responsibilities include leading and motivating the despatch team, identifying process and safety improvement opportunities, building and maintaining excellent customer relationships, conducting audits, stocktakes and training in relation to warehouse processes and procedures, coordinating the duties and activities of crew members to implement despatch plans in adherence to the despatch schedules, and performing load checks and auditing of loads and load restraint.

Key qualifications and skills required for this position include proven supervisor/leader experience in transport, distribution or logistics, experience and/or knowledge of the transport industry or warehousing, understanding of capacity planning, schedule adherence and DIFOT management, advanced stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, high focus on team development, engagement and involvement, and knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, including load restraint, mass and fatigue management.

About the role:

  • Lead and manage a despatch team to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND PROFESSIONALISM.
  • Conduct regular audits and training sessions to ensure compliance with warehouse procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate with crew members to implement despatch plans and meet deadlines.
