Randstad is partnering with a government department to create a sustainable and healthy South Australia. The organization has under 200 employees in South Australia, with a payroll run mostly fortnightly and some monthly. This role offers flexibility with 1-2 days of work from home each week and an office conveniently located in Adelaide CBD.
About the Job
This role is responsible for front-end payroll, with the actual payroll processed by a vendor. Key duties include:
- Software & Systems: Timesheet data entry in the system, with accurate interpretation of digital timesheets.
- Payroll Management: Relevant payroll activities for fortnightly and monthly paid employees, including reviewing and distributing payslips on time.
- Calculations: Verify and input payroll data, including overtime, penalties, leave entitlements, allowances, and deductions.
- Reconciliation: Identify and correct errors before final processing.
- Leave Management: Process all leave applications and prepare associated reporting.
- Compliance: Understand and apply EBA provisions, awards, legislation, contract terms, and tax regulations.
About the Manager / Team
This role reports to the People and Culture Manager, based in Adelaide. The position is a newly-created permanent headcount, resulting from a promotion within the organization. On-the-job training and handover with the current incumbent will be provided.
Skills & Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum 5 years of payroll experience. Advanced Excel skills are essential, and expertise with time and attendance systems is critical. A "can-do" attitude and a genuine desire to improve processes and systems are also required. You should be well-organized, meticulous, and good at problem-solving.
