HSE Specialist Job Description

This role is responsible for assisting in the implementation of health, safety, and environmental programmes, policies, procedures, and processes within a facility and across various business segments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the oil and gas sector and/or health, safety, and environment (HSE) and be proficient in information technology (IT), specifically MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They will also have strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Assist in implementing health, safety, and environmental programmes, policies, procedures, and processes within a facility and across various business segments.
  • Provide HSE support in developing and reviewing risk assessments/job safety analysis to support HSE management systems and business activities.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory requirements registers.
  • Offer advice on HSE regulatory compliance and industry best practices to local management.
  • Work with facility management to prepare continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with facility management to develop HSE training programmes and matrices.
  • Implement HSE controls and bridging documents for personnel undertaking work at customer sites, including journey management.
  • Encourage and promote safe working practices, intervene at risk conditions/behavior, and correct as necessary.
  • Support operational tenders and supply chain registrations, such as ISNetWorld.
  • Conduct facility HSE audits and participate in workplace inspections.
  • Promote near miss reporting and investigate incidents (including field-related incidents).
  • Coordinate waste streams and disposal efforts to maximize reuse and recycling opportunities.
  • Collect and monitor data for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Maintain emergency response plans for facilities and field operations.
  • Schedule and record emergency drills, such as fire evacuations.
  • Document and develop Level III HSE procedures for facilities and field operations.
  • Report monthly HSE progress, key performance indicators, objectives, and targets.
  • Support HSE communications, including meetings, tool box talks, and management reviews.
  • Provide general HSE support to other locations and business units.
