Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP) for a short-term assignment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing workplace health and safety advice, service, and assistance to our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret WHS Legislation: Interpret and provide advice on WHS legislation, including relevant codes of practice, Australian standards, and international standards.
  • Support Return-to-Work Activities: Support return-to-work activities, including reviewing and developing suitable duties plans, reviewing medical certificates, and rehabilitation activities.
  • Conduct Site Audits and Inspections: Conduct site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with Reporting and Investigating Incidents: Assist with reporting and investigating WHS&E incidents and contractor notifiable incidents.
  • Coordinate Emergency Planning and Response: Coordinate emergency planning and response activities at the direction of the WHS Manager.
  • Deliver Health and Safety Programs: Coordinate the delivery of Departmental health and safety programs and health monitoring activities.
Requirements
  • Experience in WHS: Experience in a similar WHS position.
  • Understanding of WHS Legislation: Understanding of WHS legislation and codes of practice.
