About this Role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the development of rural education experiences for Indigenous clinicians and health students undertaking placements across southern Queensland.

In this role, you will identify education and training needs for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals in the rural health workforce. You will also develop and deliver programs to support career development and skill enhancement in providing health services.

You will engage and collaborate with Indigenous health organisations and traditional custodians across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland. Additionally, you will identify partnership opportunities to expand localised cultural safety education and Indigenous health programs.

You will work closely with staff from the UQ Rural Clinical School to implement these activities effectively.

About the Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

We're searching for a Clinical Academic with broad clinical health experience and at least 3 years of recent practice experience. The appointee will bring a growing profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research to the role. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional representative body is essential.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to improving rural and remote area health and outstanding interpersonal and communications skills to effectively communicate with people from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
